Easter baking

So yesterday we went to Joy Story 2 c/o Gateway Church held at Transcona Country Club, (we were visiting my in-law’s church), and it was a very lively service. The boys had fun watching Woody and Buzz Lightyear learn about what Christ did on the cross, and how they didn’t need to rescue Him, as He came to rescue us all from eternal damnation. And the sermon was very powerful as usual, as they preach the Gospel there every time and not just occasionally.

Afterwards, we all went home for a short bit, then it was time to go to our extended family gathering for Easter. Unfortunately, some people were ill so they couldn’t make it, but it was still nice to see everyone and meet some new faces too. The night prior, my youngest and I got to work making some colourful Crispy Rice Easter eggs. I let him choose the colours so he chose blue and red (pink) which turned out quite nicely. Here’s some photos of our baking time:

As you can see, my youngest son and I enjoyed making our little crea-egg-tions lol! It was lots of fun and they turned out so cute too! 🙂

After we made those, and it was time for the boys to go to bed, I decided to supplement the desserts with a batch of my delicious cranberry muffins. I believe I got the recipe off of Allrecipes.com a long time ago (it was called blueberry muffins to die for). I just make them with cranberries instead and I love the tartness of the cranberries mixed with the sweetness of the sugar. 🙂 So here’s some photos of that fun:

Everyone enjoyed the desserts, as did I as after having gone 4 weeks without real sugar and sweets, it’s been rough. And aren’t weekends that much better with a bit of sweetness? 😉

Till next post,
