Hello, my name is Roxy, and I’m a mother of two young children, currently working in ministry, who loves to sew (I’m self-taught, and still learning), make crafts, draw comics (my comic site is at: http://www.fuzzsociety.com), bake, garden, sing, dance, crochet, help others, make gifts, learn new things, find/share deals (no kidding! that’s why I have a deal site at: http://winnipegdeals.wordpress.com/), play board/video games, organize stuff, and grow in my faith. Is that all? No, but that’s what I thought of from the top of my head. I also like to think of myself as a bit of a handy-woman, so I dabble in fixing things here and there, though I don’t always succeed. I get an A for effort though! ;p Oh and did I mention I have a sweet tooth? Well, I do. So when I bake, I try to make enough to share with lots of people so I can have my taste, then share with neighbours/friends/family and everyone wins!! It’s quite relaxing too, unless I’m making a birthday cake, then I feel the pressure lol! And I’ve had my fair share of mess ups with cakes if I do say so myself! ;p But everyone needs to learn something. ^_~
FYI, if there are any other new sewists out there, I highly recommend checking out the Singer Fashionista, as after doing much research online, I found this one to have the most positive reviews for ease of use. I have used mine for at least two years now and I love it! It has made learning to sew that much nicer (I tried to use my mom’s old heavy duty machine but could never get it to sew without the thread snapping), so this machine has made my life easier. And just like with anything, reading the manual from front to back and practicing has made making stuff even easier and more fun! So give it a try if you’re planning to take up sewing for the first time or just want an all around good machine for home projects. If at some point I do turn this into a full time business, I may want to upgrade to a heavy duty machine, but right now it does everything I want it to, with very little frustration = perfect for me! 🙂 As a bonus, this is a Martha Stewart recommended machine, and it sells for less than $200! Enjoy!
If you have any questions about me or perhaps a commission for artwork, sewing or otherwise, please contact me at: fuzzsociety @ gmail.com, I’d love to hear from you! Thanks!
